New Levels of Honesty

On Friday, my Coro group reached a turning point of openness and honesty. Our session provided us with the ability to speak openly to each other about the progress we are making as a team. Part of that session was a 5 minute critique on each member of the team. I provided some honest feedback for some and patiently waited for my turn.

The feedback the group gave me was overwhelmingly positive. A couple people stated that they would love to have me as a boss. One person next to me whispered to me that I’m the glue that holds the group together. There were a handful of critiques that my team members said I could work on.

1. Work on delegation. By taking up too much work myself, I actually hamper others from growth

2. Take more of a step to lead the group. Don’t shy away from the influence and power I may have

3. Be wary of using technology as a crutch to hamper creativity.

I think the first two steps are things I seriously have to consider. The 3rd point, while legitimate in the context of my work with the group thus far, doesn’t seem to be a problem for me in my everyday life. While I do believe I’m more intimately familiar with utilizing technology than most, I don’t think it prevents me from being creative. However, I will keep a close eye on my interactions with technology.
